Despite all those certifications after his name, he is known simply as “Dr. Mike” by the hundreds of patients he treats each year. His upbeat, innovative approach to helping people stems from his strong proactive model of wellness, and because of that, he is often able to help individuals who have not responded well to more traditional treatment.
A certified sports chiropractor and director of 180° Chiropractic, Dr. Underhill has practiced in Beaverton, Oregon for over 40 years. He holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College (now University of Western States) and is National Board Certified and licensed by the state board of Oregon. Other specialized training includes: Advanced Certification in Chiropractic Biophysics aka Clinical Biomechanics of Posture; Sports Chiropractor; and Chiropractic Spinal Trauma.
Dr. Underhill is also a noted expert in managing chronic and difficult cases that other doctors refer to him for care. For example, patients who suffer with headaches of all kinds, carpal tunnel syndrome, neuritis and neuropathy related to abnormal structure as well as disc herniation and degeneration often find relief if not resolution with the approach provided by Dr. Underhill at 180° Chiropractic.
Recognized and respected by his peers, Dr. Underhill contributes to the chiropractic community through lectures, research papers, articles and presentations to professional conferences on subjects such as whiplash, advanced imaging, clinical bio-mechanics, rehabilitation, nutrition and posture. He is also a contributing author to both editions of the text, "Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries: Mechanisms, Diagnosis, and Management" and has taught postgraduate and undergraduate classes at WSCC. In addition, he is a past panel member of the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
He lives here in town with his wife Michelle and their twins Thomas and Allyson.
